In
1978, Josh and his family moved to the United States from Seoul,
South Korea. As they settled in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Josh had
to learn the basics again, adjusting himself to the new environment
and accepting cultural differences that came along the way. His
father served a small congregation in Flourtown, while his mother
worked in a factory. Growing up in such environment, Josh learned
the value of hard work; he did not take anything for granted but
always strived to do the best of his ability to achieve his dreams
and goals. Overcoming the language
barrier, Josh studied to excel academically and graduated with a Phi
Beta Kappa award from Norristown High School. He then went onto
Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA and The George Washington
University in Washington D.C., earning a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Physics in 1987. He received his law degree from Temple Law
School in 1998.
Upon
graduation, Josh pursued his passion, criminal law. He served as a
Montgomery County Public Defender for the next two years. As a
Public Defender for
the county, he has represented indigent criminal
defendants, State Parole Violators at Graterford
State
Prison, and
mental
health patients. Currently, he has opened his own law firm located
in Elkins Park. His practice concentrates on the areas of criminal
defense, civil litigation, and immigration proceedings.
